HIS CHRONICLE
CHAINS BROKEN
The journey from bondage to household, enterprise, and legacy
01 · THE NORTHERN YEARS
Strength Through Endurance
Freedom gave Raektun the chance to determine what
kind of man he would become.
He worked the land, crossed dangerous waters, and
helped build settlements capable of surviving
against hardship. He became known as a steady
presence—a man who spoke little, watched carefully,
and understood that lasting strength was built
through discipline rather than empty display.
While Alaric wove trade in cloth and dye, Raektun
turned his hands to the soil and the sea, ensuring
their settlement would endure. When Alaric later
returned from voyages with abandoned girls, he
entrusted them to Raektun’s oversight.
02 · THE ROAD SOUTH
A New Purpose
The customs of the South offered him a future
beyond the burdens of his northern past.
After tragedy claimed the life he had known,
Raektun left the North and travelled south in search
of a new purpose. The southern cities were unlike
the harsh settlements of his youth. Their customs
were more refined, their markets more complex, and
their wealth was displayed through trade,
hospitality, and carefully guarded reputations.
Rather than remain bound to the traditions of the
North, Raektun learned the ways of the South. He
exchanged rough northern habits for measured
authority, cultivated taste, and the patient
discipline required of a successful merchant.
03 · THE SORELLAN NAME
A House of His Own
The name Sorellan marked the beginning of a new
household and a new southern legacy.
In time, he adopted the name Sorellan, marking the
beginning of a new household and a legacy shaped
not only by where he had come from, but by the man
he had chosen to become.
Raektun’s household includes Tovas and Tovah, both
of whom belong to him and serve within the life he
has established in the South. Their presence
reflects the order of his home and the
responsibilities he has accepted as its head.
He governs them with the same deliberate authority
he brings to his business, expecting discipline,
loyalty, and proper conduct.
04 · THE SELNAR RESERVE
Refinement and Enterprise
A private distillery became the clearest expression
of Raektun’s southern transformation.
In Selnar, Raektun established
The Selnar Reserve
,
a private paga distillery devoted to carefully
blended spirits and distinguished service. What
began as a business soon became a symbol of his
southern life.
The Reserve earned a reputation for quality,
discretion, and its exclusive members-only tasting
room, where men of standing could gather away from
the noise of public taverns.
Today, Raektun Sorellan is no longer simply a
northern man living beneath southern skies. He has
become a man of the South in bearing, custom, and
ambition. Though the strength of Torvaldsland
remains in his blood, his name, household, and
enterprise now belong to Selnar.
The Selnar Reserve stands as the clearest
expression of that transformation—a life once
defined by chains, rebuilt through freedom,
ownership, and legacy.
