Her studies carried her far beyond Turia. Dartavia travelled extensively across the lands, observing unfamiliar customs, learning the laws of distant cities, and recording the differences between their cultures.
Of all scholarly pursuits, she developed the greatest devotion to matters of law, contracts, civic rights, and legal precedent. Each city offered another body of law to examine, another custom to understand, and another lesson to preserve within her scrolls.
Advocate of Free Women
Over the centuries, Dartavia became known as a capable and well-respected advocate for Free Women, particularly those requiring defence against unlawful or forced collaring.
She approaches every matter with precision, examining testimony, written agreements, local statutes, and established custom before presenting her argument. Though composed and reserved, she is unwavering when defending those placed unjustly at risk.
The Silence of Scrolls
Dartavia has always preferred the quiet rustle of scrolls to the loud noise of a busy house. In more than two hundred years, she entered into companionship only once.
The union was brief, and she remains grateful that its contract was ultimately nullified. Since then, she has found greater satisfaction in study, independence, and service to her caste.
